About Eight Corners Blog

The Eight-Corners Rule is the principle that a liability insurer’s duty to defend its insured is assessed by reviewing the claims asserted in a plaintiff’s complaint, without reference to matters outside the four corners of the complaint plus the four corners of the policy. This blog considers insurance coverage and litigation developments by providing summaries of recent decisions from state and federal courts throughout Texas.
